Malang, November 11, 2025 — As part of efforts to enhance family resilience and quality of life, the Purwodadi Subdistrict organized a Community Empowerment Program titled “Resilient Mothers, Happy Families” with the theme “Maintaining Mental Health Amid Life’s Dynamics.” The event featured Mrs. Sylvia Kitty Simanungkalit, S.Si., MMRS, a public health practitioner and advocate, as the keynote speaker.
Attended by 50 participants, the program aimed to strengthen the role of mothers as the main pillars of the family in facing increasingly complex social, economic, and psychological challenges. In her presentation, Mrs. Sylvia emphasized the importance of mental health as the foundation of family well-being, especially amid rapid social change and modern life pressures.
She highlighted that mental health is not merely a personal issue, but an integral component of sustainable community development. “Mentally healthy families are better equipped to adapt, foster harmonious communication, and nurture resilient generations,” she remarked during the discussion session.
The event also served as a reflective forum for participants to share experiences and deepen their understanding of emotional balance, stress management, and social support within the family setting.
Through this initiative, the Purwodadi Subdistrict demonstrated its commitment to women’s empowerment and family resilience enhancement, aligning with the broader vision of human development centered on both physical and mental well-being. It is hoped that similar programs will continue to be implemented as a concrete step toward building a healthy, self-reliant, and resilient community.
