Malang, September 29, 2025 – Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia for the 2020–2024 period and concurrently Chairman of the Indonesia Health Tourism Society (IHTS), visited Persada Hospital to directly observe Malang’s readiness as a medical tourism destination. Sandiaga and his delegation were welcomed by dr. Kushandayani, MMRS (President Director of PT Persada Medika Raya), dr. Kristiawan Basuki Rahmat, M. Kes (Director of Persada Hospital), and dr. Ajeng Rahayuning Kusumastiti, MMRS (Deputy Medical Director).
During the visit, Sandiaga expressed his appreciation for Persada Hospital, which he recognized for its modern facilities, high-quality healthcare services prioritizing safety and comfort, and its significant potential to support the development of medical tourism in Indonesia. As a Type B hospital in Malang, Persada Hospital offers flagship services including: Cardiovascular, Orthopedic (Hip & Knee), Spine Clinic, Neuro Surgery, Stroke Comprehensive Clinic, Sleep and Snoring Clinic, Diabetic Clinic, Wound Care, Rehabilitation, and Home Care.
Sandiaga specifically commended Persada Hospital’s Stroke Home Care Service for providing high-quality healthcare at a more cost-effective rate compared to similar services abroad.
“Services like Persada Hospital’s Stroke Home Care demonstrate that the quality of healthcare in our country is on par with international standards. I encourage Persada Hospital to continue expanding its high-quality flagship services so that more Indonesians can receive care domestically,” said Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno.
He further emphasized the importance of collaboration among hospitals and the adoption of sustainable health technologies to enhance services and reduce outbound medical tourism. “It would be excellent if Persada Hospital could seize the opportunity to become a homegrown flagship hospital with international-standard services and facilities,” he added.
Sandiaga Uno’s visit serves as motivation for Persada Hospital to continue innovating, improving service quality, and contributing to strengthening Malang’s reputation as a proud Medical Tourism City.

This brief visit also highlighted Sandiaga’s role as the initiator of the Malang Health Tourism Board (MHTB), established in April 2023 and led by Ardantya Syahreza, which has driven the certification of six hospitals for medical tourism and the development of Malang as a medical and wellness destination.
