Malang, October 11, 2025 – Persada Hospital reaffirms its commitment to delivering advanced healthcare services by launching the latest laser technologies in the fields of Digestive (Biolitec Leonardo Dual 45) and Urology (Holmium Laser). This innovation is part of Persada Hospital’s strategic initiative to enhance service quality, improve patient safety, and accelerate recovery times.

The launch was presented in a Continuing Medical Education (CME) seminar titled, “Sharper, Safer, Smarter: Exploring Medical Laser Breakthroughs for RIRS, Proctology, FILAC, and Varicose Veins.” The event was attended by around 100 general practitioners and featured expert speakers, including Dr. dr. Besut Daryanto, Sp.B., Sp.U (K); Dr. dr. Paksi Satyagraha, M.Kes., Sp.U (K), FICS; dr. Dwicha Rahmawansa Siswardana, Sp.B-KBD; and dr. Koernia Kusuma Wardhana, Sp.BTKV (K)-VE, FICS.

“This laser technology allows procedures to be performed with greater precision, minimal incisions, lower risk, and faster recovery time,” said Dr. dr. Besut Daryanto, Sp.B., Sp.U (K), one of the seminar speakers.

Biolitec Leonardo Dual 45: Smart Solution for Digestive Surgery

In the field of digestive surgery, Persada Hospital introduced the Biolitec Leonardo Dual 45, a next-generation laser technology used for various minimally invasive procedures, such as FILAC (Fistula Laser Closure), hemorrhoids, pilonidal cysts, and varicose veins.

The Biolitec laser operates with two wavelengths (980 nm and 1470 nm) that can be adjusted according to tissue needs. Its energy is selectively absorbed by water and hemoglobin, minimizing damage to healthy tissue, reducing postoperative pain, and accelerating healing. Additionally, procedures using this laser do not require large incisions, cause minimal bleeding, and allow same-day discharge.

Holmium Laser: Breakthrough for Urology Cases

In urology, Persada Hospital now utilizes the Holmium Laser, a sophisticated technology with specific wavelengths to break kidney stones, ureter stones, and bladder stones without open surgery.

Procedures are performed endoscopically using a miniature telescope (ureteroscope) inserted through the urinary tract to the stone site. The laser energy is precisely targeted to fragment stones into small pieces that can be easily expelled.

Holmium Laser is also used for benign prostate enlargement (BPH) through the HoLEP procedure (Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate). This replaces conventional surgery with significantly lower bleeding risk and shorter hospital stays.
