Heart disease remains a global health threat, and Indonesia is no exception. Basic Health Research data shows that the number of coronary heart disease cases continues to increase every year. The World Health Organization (WHO) states that as many as 17 million people die from heart disease. Based on research data published by the Ministry of Health through the 2020 Indonesian Health Profile, it is stated that heart disease is included in eight catastrophic diseases with a total of 11,592,990 cases. As a step to overcome heart disease, there are ways such as installing a heart ring (cath lab) and heart surgery to optimize heart function.
Persada Hospital is now ready to perform heart surgery, both CABG or known as Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG), Mitral Valve Replacement (MVR), Aortic Valve Replacement (AVR), and other heart surgery. Heart surgery is one way to treat health problems related to impaired heart function.
This heart surgery operation was an extraordinary collaboration with several fellow specialists who are members of the team of Heart Specialists and Cardiac Surgery Specialists of Persada Hospital. In addition to collaborating with a team of reliable doctors, this operation was also supported by sophisticated medical equipment so that the operation could be successfully performed. The equipment used includes Heart Lung Machine, Brain Oximetry, Echocardiography with TEE Transducer, Intra Aortic Balloon Pump, Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) and other advanced supporting tools.
On Saturday, June 18, 2022, Persada Hospital held a seminar entitled "Update treatment for Coronary Heart Disease, with or without surgery" at the Ballroom of Grand Mercure Hotel Malang. Persada Hospital presented renowned cardiologists and cardiac surgeons, including Prof. Dr. M. Saifur Rohman, Sp.Jp (K), Ph.D., FSCAI, Dr. Heny Martini, Sp.JP (K), FIHA, and Dr. M. Alfa Ferry S. MD, FRCS, FCS, Sp. BTKV, FIHA. The seminar was attended by heart and vascular specialists and general practitioners. The seminar also signaled that Persada Hospital is ready to receive referrals for cardiac services for the community.
Previously, Persada Hospital had successfully performed the operation as well as being the first open heart surgery performed by a private hospital in Malang. This success is an achievement and a new hope for Persada Hospital to be able to continue to provide optimal service to patients, especially the people in the Greater Malang area and beyond.
