DSA (Digital Subtraction Angiography) is a medical procedure to view the structure of blood vessels in the brain, especially in the head and neck. The invasive examination uses a cath lab machine. DSA modality is an endovascular procedure that has become the gold standard for all cerebral vascular treatments. Patients with indications for DSA are patients who have experienced blood vessel abnormalities in the brain such as stroke.

Patients with hemorrhagic stroke are also indicated for DSA at a young age due to the average abnormalities in the structure of the blood vessels in the brain. The DSA procedure is safe, which involves making a small incision in the groin or hand vein. Then, through the incision, a catheter device is inserted into the target place where the abnormality is suspected. However, before performing DSA, patients are required to check their kidney function.
